![]() Dornan’s take on sulking reaches painfully cliché heights, more painful than a pair of nipple clamps (courtesy of the Red Room, of course). Grey is supposed to be emotionally stunted, hence his need for BDSM, which provides him an outlet. No amount of sex appeal compensates for something this stock. We get it – brooding is what rich people with a secret do. And following a car chase scene (yes, a car chase), Johnson should take solace in knowing she can get a job in a “Fast and Furious” film once most viewers forget this three-film hiccup in her career.Īs for Jamie Dornan, he’s wooden, stiff, over the top. Rigid is the best description of Johnson’s acting, so at least she stays consistent trilogy-long. How could anyone pass on a film whose tagline reads, “Don’t miss the climax?” That’s the kind of prose you don’t get from stuffy novels like “The Great Gatsby.” Nowhere else can an American in Europe, Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) on her honeymoon, defend going topless at a beach by saying, “It’s boobs in boobland.” Quite the comedy here, complete with sex, bondage and half-cocked character exposition. ![]() That’s what should happen, but T&A doesn’t always culminate in titillation. It’s that time of year for you to strap on for “Fifty Shades Freed,” the final adventure through Christian Grey’s sex dungeon – apologies, I mean “Red Room” – as we suspend our moral codes to experience a passion unleashed with the same vigor of a fitness nut on a cheat day. ![]() ![]() Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele are married in “Fifty Shades Freed,” the latest film in the trilogy by E.L. ![]()
